Arba Minch is a district and city in southern Ethiopia. It consists of 2 areas: Schecha, the uptown administrative center, and Sikela, a commercial and residential zone 8 miles away. The greatest attraction for tourists in the area is Nechisar National Park, an opportunity to see Ethiopia’s varied wildlife and plant species up close. The park also features the hot springs which gives the city its name: Arba Minch means ‘forty springs’. Arba Minch is a highly resourceful area of the country, visitors will spot many mango, guava and pineapple trees as well as fish farms.

Hawassa, Ethiopia (also spelled Awasa and Hawasa) is the perfect place to relax on a longer trip to Ethiopia, especially when traveling to the Omo Valley. The fish market is probably the top visited site in Hawassa. It’s best to go in the morning when the fish is coming in and being sold. If you dare, sit in the restaurant with locals and roaming goats and eat raw fish, fried fish, and fish soup (served in mugs).

Arbaminch; Morning after breakfast make boat trip on Lake Chamo to see the largest crocodiles in Africa which measure up to 7 Mts. Afternoon visit Chencha village to visit Dorze people.

Hawassa

Hawassa Morning after breakfast drive to Awassa. Awassa is a bustling Ethiopian town in the heart of the Great Rift Valley.

DAY 5

Hawassa to Addis Ababa

Hawassa – Addis Ababa: Morning visit the daily local fish market at Lake Awassa. and drive back to Addis Ababa Evening fare well dinner at traditional restaurant and transfer to airport for flight back to home.

Arba Minch” means “40 Springs” the name was originated from the presence of more than 40 springs. It was located in the Gamo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region about 500 kilometers south of Addis Ababa, at an elevation of 1285 meters above sea level.
